Maria João Faleiro, Animal Production Technical Engineer.
She has 32 years of experience in aquaculture in technical monitoring and control of live food production, namely rotifers (Brachionus plicatilis) and brine shrimp (Artemia salina), as well as in the larval production of sea bream (Sparus aurata) and sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax).
She has developed skills in planning and managing the annual production of juveniles, including the storage, marketing, and transport of fish.
He also gained experience in technical monitoring and control of the production and reproduction management of sea bream (Sparus aurata), having participated in projects for the development and production of new species, such as white seabream (Diplodus sargus) and humphead wrasse (Dentex gibbosus).
At S2AQUAcoLAB, he is part of the iOysters project team, whose goal is to develop and optimize alternative bivalve production systems, promoting their accessibility and contributing to the fight against food scarcity.
