Sílvia Gregório

Sílvia Gregório holds a master’s degree in Biotechnology Engineering and a PhD in Aquaculture – Marine Resources. Her research is multidisciplinary in nature, focusing on the study of intestinal bicarbonate secretion in fish through ionic transport mechanisms, using electrophysiological, molecular, histological, and welfare assessment approaches in marine fish.
Using electrophysiology in analyses of the intestine, she has participated in several aquaculture projects, evaluating adaptive responses of the intestinal epithelium to different diets and gastrointestinal sections.
At S2AQUA, he will perform functions in the area of pathology, contributing to the development of new products and services for the sector.
