The S2AQUAcoLAB participated in the European Maritime Day 2026 (EMD), the main European event dedicated to the sustainable blue economy, held this year in Limassol (21–22 May).

Organised annually, the EMD brings together the European maritime community to promote knowledge sharing, discussion and joint actions on topics such as aquaculture, sustainability, innovation and the marine environment.

The event included thematic sessions, workshops, exhibitions and networking opportunities between researchers, companies, institutions and maritime stakeholders.

S2AQUAcoLAB’s participation strengthened international connections, allowed the team to follow key trends and challenges in the sector, and showcased the institution’s mission, research and services in sustainable and smart aquaculture.
