2026-03-31
S2AQUAcoLAB had the pleasure of supporting the seminar “Detection and Prevention of Norovirus in Bivalves”, which took place on March 23 at the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology, in Peniche. The initiative brought together several participants from the bivalve production sector, fostering reflection and discussion around a topic that is crucial for food safety in Europe.
During the session, key issues were addressed, namely the impact of norovirus on public health, the risks associated with bivalve production, and the main strategies for monitoring, detection, and prevention. The norovirus detection service for bivalves provided by S2AQUAcoLAB was also presented.
This event represented an important opportunity to share knowledge, clarify questions, and reinforce the importance of early detection as an essential tool to assess risks, ensure food safety, and protect consumer confidence.
S2AQUAcoLAB thanks all participants for their presence and contribution to such a relevant discussion.
