Last Thursday and Friday, S2AQUAcoLAB held the third edition of SQUAD Aquaculture - the annual meeting between members and collaborators - dedicated to the theme “Science and Innovation Strengthening the Aquaculture Sector”.

During the event, our researchers presented the main research lines of the CoLAB, highlighting the work carried out over the past year and the future perspectives aimed at boosting the sector’s sustainability and competitiveness.

A special thank you to Universidade do Algarve (UAlg) for the warm hospitality and for making this event possible. We also extend our thanks to our members, their representatives, and strategic partners, whose active participation contributed to creating new synergies, collaborative dynamics, and idea sharing - essential elements for the growth and consolidation of both S2AQUAcoLAB and the aquaculture community as a whole.

A special acknowledgment to Dr. Isidro Blanquet, Secretary-General of Associação Portuguesa de Aquacultores, and Dr. José Apolinário, President of CCDR Algarve, for their presence and participation in the roundtable discussion, which fostered an enriching debate on “Aquaculture in Portugal and the Challenges of Research”.
